Destination: Rutland

Even though Peru (a country located in South America) is my birth home, I consider Canada and specially Kelowna to be my second home. I arrived in the fall of 2015 to begin my post-high school studies at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus) and over the past 7 years of my life I have experienced a diverse but united culture where people respect each other, help each other and most importantly believe in each other. I have lived in different areas in Kelowna, but over the last couple of years I have settled down in Rutland due to educational and labour reasons. "Destination: Rutland" is a project that emerged with the goal to promote and expose the true beauty of the Rutland neighbourhood. My blog is targeted mainly for families with young children that are either new to the area or are looking for some close-by activities to do during the weekends, holiday breaks or after school. As a 'Health and Exercise' alumni I am always looking for ways to promote physical activity and adequate nutrition. Therefore, another secondary goal I have with my blog is that I want to encourage people to move around and learn more about their own neighbourhood and have options in terms of activities and events.
