BC Transit offers a Free-Transit Program for Children aged under 12 years old. The program itself aims to introduce children to the regional transportation system and to prepare young new riders for their upcoming bus ride experience. BC Transit also offers a "Ready to Ride" quiz at the end of the training. Children 'aged 5 and under' cannot ride the bus without the company of someone 'aged 12 or older', this specially applies for children in elementary school. For any additional questioning about the program, please visit the FAQ link.
Children in Middle School (age around 13 years old) have some potential bus routes that can be taken to reach their school destination. Two main Middle Schools in Rutland are a available: Rutland Middle School (RMS) and Springvalley Middle School (SMS). Below are the routes through which each different bus passes by everyday: for RMS there is a direct stop in front of the school for all three buses but unfortunately for SMS there is no direct nearby stops as they all involve at least 5-10 minutes of walking.

For planning your trip and see the schedules for each particular bus, please visit BC Transit or download the Transit app, which is available in the Apple store and Google Play. The Transit app gives real-time information of the bus locations, stops and any updates regarding waiting times and/or detours.
